What are the reasons behind the planned production of 4.5 million drones?

Prime Minister Denis Shmichal said that Ukraine will produce more than 2.5 million drones in 2025. However, in fact, this figure is not accurate, because the government has set a more ambitious goal: 4.5 million drones.

According to sources in the defense industry, the decision to purchase 4.5 million UAVs was made at the meeting of the Supreme Command in January. This decision was driven by the risk of interruption of foreign weapons supply, the limitation of domestic artillery production and the success of drone operators in destroying enemy targets.

Drones have indeed replaced many traditional means of attack. According to Commander-in-Chief Alexander Silsky, in January this year, 49% of enemy equipment was destroyed by FPV drones. Therefore, the country hopes to expand the scale of this phenomenon and use drones to make up for its military weaknesses.

To achieve the new goal, it is necessary to mobilize all available production capacity in Ukraine, because Defense Minister Roustain Umerov said that 4.5 million UAVs will be the total production capacity of domestic companies in Ukraine in 2025.

Ukraine will have to find funds, improve logistics, improve quality control, find tools to reduce costs, and produce ammunition for these drones. Completing this task will determine Ukraine's ability to resist the enemy in 2025.
